Senate Rejects Amendment to Cap False Claims Act Whistleblower Awards
Earlier today the Senate rejected an amendment to the Fraud Enforcement and Recovery Act (S.386), which would limit the amount a whistleblower can receive from recoveries under the False Claims Act. Currently judges can award whistleblowers up to 30 percent of the total recovery for the government. The amendment would have limited the whistleblower reward to $50 million. Senate Judiciary Chairman Patrick Leahy opposed the amendment noting that the False Claims Act is “very well balanced the way it is, with a judge having to make a final decision on the award.”
Now the Senate is voting on the remaining amendments to the anti-fraud legislation, which could pass as early as this afternoon. We will keep you up to date on the latest developments.

Seemingly and without the FEWPER Act, Federal Employee Whistleblower Protection Enhancement Restoration Act (and for all), as in the US Legislative Identical Bills of S1385 in 2003/4/5/6 and HR985 in 2007/8/9 that these actions appear to be seeminly continued usless, hoodwinking and a deception and continues to a substantial extent to seemingly hold our US Constitutional, Bill of Rights US Governemt nugatory. These provisions are already accomodated with substantial and necessary application with the False Claims Act and the legal System. Also and especially with the continued corrupt and/or improper use of and/or within illegal//legal State Secrets, Torture, Death, Illegal Detention and/or Rendition, Habeas Corpus denial(s) ecetra. Also and especially and as our US Representatives have seemingly failed and not upheld their Subpoenas from a multitude of their highly important Hearings, including the John Conyers, Full Judicary Committee Hearing 7/2008 entitled 'Executive Powers and Its Limitations' 'Impeachment Hearings' and as mentioned in the Testimony record as the most important Hearing within the past Century.
NWC, how about an honest 'update!!' and a honest 'full disclosure!!' on the 'Federal Employee Whistleblower Protection Enhancement Restoration Act'.
Dear NWC, 4/23/2009
Hopefully the Leadership will immediately (THIS WEEK!!!!) apply and implement the 'Change We Can Believe In' with the immediate US LEGISLATIVE, FULL FLOOR VOTE of the Identical S1385/HR985 Bills 'FEDERAL EMPLOYEE WHISTLEBLOWER PROTECTION ENHANCEMENT RESTORATION ACT' and not the continued support for the continued intolerable Corrupt Policies, Practices and Procedures of the previous Administration(s) and Leadership(s) thereof, as applicable!!!!!
As you may recall our entire US Executive, Legislative and Judicial Branches of Government seemingly have always fully support this 'Veto Proof' Bill, including as recently as these Identical legislative Bills of S1385 in 2003/4/5/6 and S985 in 2007/8/9.
Thank you and all for your time and consideration.
These [former] police officers in Southern California got the short end of the stick after they exposed unethical and (in some cases) illegal behavior by police management! You guys should look into this and offer them some help.
They even went so far as to start a website that has all the details and a timeline. There is even downloadable info.
