Workers blow whistle on Moe Hamdan's wage theft
Moe Hamdan owns the upscale Washington restaurant called The Reserve on L St. NW. Instead of using the restaurant's income to pay the workers' wages, he used it for his own lavish lifestyle. Some workers went six months without being paid what they are owed. "I worked really hard as a bar boy at this restaurant," says former Reserve employee Luis Ducas, "and the owner refuses to pay me my back wages." D.C. Jobs with Justice's Arturo Griffiths says Hamdan owes workers over $25,000 in unpaid wages. Hamdan "has no intentions of paying his workers or even meeting with them" a former manager told Boaz Young-El, an AFL-CIO Union Summer intern. "He is unethical, immoral, and has no remorse for what he has done." So, when DC Jobs with Justice called on friends to literally blow the whistle at The Reserve this evening, my wife and I joined in. Management responded by calling the police. Officer A. O. Wilson came to the scene and said, "I have no problem with these protesters." Still, I have a problem with stealing workers' wages. It will be nice when police take wage theft as seriously as they take shoplifting.

The above article is untrue and the summer intern that wrote it has no journalistic integrity. If they or the non profit organization would have taken the time to do some research they would have found that the employees who they claim did not get paid wages, were in fact paid and there are records to prove it. The other employees that made false accusations were terminated for either theft, damage to property, or drinking while on duty. It is things like this matter that discredit organizations like this when they try to fight for a good cause. Take the time to do some research before you comment on issues like this. Lets try to practice journalistic integrity before making false accusations.
Dear Mr. Hamdan,
Thank you for responding to my blog post.
If you have documentation of your records of the hours worked and the wages paid, I would be happy to review them and modify the blog post according to my conclusions from the records.
I understand that the DC government is investigating the workers' wage claims, and that you have declined to cooperate with the government investigators. Is this true?

It is untrue, and both the organization and individuals that started these untrue statements are currently facing legal problems. Currently this issue is in DC Superior Court. I filed a law suit against all parties. Do your home work and you will see the facts on the case, since you are the "legal director." Next time you post a blog like this you should talk to both sides, maybe that will help you get more readers and make you more crediable.
Dear Mr. Hamdan:
You raised this same concern with me last September, and I agreed to review the documentation that you said you would send me (see your September 23, 2010, email below). I never received the documentation.
If you still want me to review the documents and modify my blog post according to my findings, you are still welcome to send me the documentation.

Moe Hamdan and his wife Arlene are scam artists. They have a long list of debt collectors trying to get them to pay bills. The Hamdans move from place to place because they can't afford to buy a house. Not paying his employees and trying to sue his employees is his way to get away with not paying. Moe Hamdan will get punished for his crimes sooner or later.
People should know about Moe Hamdan and stop eating or hanging out at The Reserve on L St.

Moe Hamdan and Arlene Hamdan have a history of writing bounced checks, and writing checks on closed accounts. They must a have a lot of BS bank accounts. So don't ever accept a check from them. Ask for Cashier's check. Moe Hamdan fools people by telling them that he owns a nice restaurant in DC and shows them the website to gain their trust on him.
Before doing any business with the Hamdans, check their credit history, and you can tell for yourself. List from Cox Cable, Verizon, to Doctor try to collect unpaid bills from them.
Check out the story from Jounalist Kate Michael:
Social butterfly and journalist Kate Michael -- a.k.a. @KStreetKate -- says she was totally annoyed in 2010 when Moe Hamdan (@reserveonl) and Pergrin Pervez (@pergrindc) allegedly bounced a check on her.

Moe Hamdan is now the General Manager of Love Nightclub, Him and his entire con-artist crew are working there to what will soon be another scam he will commit in another owners name. please send ppl to stop him. in, addition to the above statement one year ago many female employees complained about his personal habits. This kind of conduct is an outrage to the city we live and enjoy. What entity will step up and banish this hot mess from the District?!!?!?!?!
All negative posts are soooooooo true! I have worked with Moe in the past, and seen and experienced this first hand. Funny thing is he was fired from Love for stealing money over there as well. Ironically the same reason he was fired by Marc Barnes the first time he worked there.
